Robertson says Tochi can be perfect fit for Gers after earning stripes at top academy
DREAM ACADEMY Right to Dream production line gave start to, from left, Kudus, Sulemana and Gers' Diomande
nice young man. He has a real competitive edge, aggression.
THEY forged a dream midfield partnership as academy teenagers before breaking through together at Nordsjaelland.
And when Tochi Chukwuani reestablishes that connection with Mohamed Diomande in the Rangers engine room, expect Frazer Robertson's mind to drift back half-a-dozen years and half a world away.
Back to a time when the duo were linking up in the Right to Dream international academy's elite squad.
Former St Mirren academy coach Robertson worked with both when he left Scotland for the Ghana-based organisation that has become one of the most prolific talent production lines in world football.
Spurs superstar Mohammed Kudus, Atalanta's Kamaldeen Sulemana, Toulouse talent Abu Francis and Lyon's Ernest Niamh are among the group that graduated from the academy at the same time as Chukwuani and Diomande.
They all went on to hone their talents in Denmark with Nordsjaelland, the club which has been owned by Right to Dream for the past decade.
But Robertson, who was recently with Dunajska Streda in Slovakia, insists the Gers duo held their own in that esteemed company.
And he's sure they can do it again in Govan.
Chukwuani, who arrives at Ibrox as a £4million signing from Sturm Graz, made his professional debut with Nordsjaelland at 16 and for a year held the record as the club's youngest ever goalscorer.
It was the sign of a player with belief to match his talent.
