BRIDESHEAD REVISITED

The '81 adaptation of the Evelyn Waugh novel helped make stars of Jeremy Irons and a teddy bear called Aloysius. A broke student in the 20s befriends a young lord. TV dinner: Braised pigeon and countless wines from the cellar.

OUTLANDER

Wartime nurse Catriona Balfe, while on holiday in Scotland, finds herself transported back to 1743 and falling for handsome Jacobite Sam Heughan. It's got kilts, glens, bens and romance and it's a massive TV hit. TV dinner: Cock-a-leekie soup and bannocks.
