Bank statements told us nothing we didn't know before

BIGGER is better or so I've been told many times over the years - and it certainly seems to be the motto at Celtic.
The bank balance is bigger, the profits are bigger - and the club statements, boy, they are definitely bigger.
Hot on the heels of the 1000-word epic a fortnight ago that had fans frothing at the mouth, comes another avalanche of words amid the spectacular financial numbers.
Peter Lawwell’s address wasn't far off the thousand words while Michael Nicholson's was just over.
Punters were poring over both for signs of a ‘sorry’ or mention of the manager's future. But unless they were hidden in the first letters of each paragraph then they'd be searching for a while.
Ah well. The release of the annual financial results - at the back of six on a Friday night - didn't really tell anyone what they didn’t already know.
There was no real need for much else than a post on social media saying, “We're minted.”
Some of it was interesting though. It certainly rolled back some of the nonsense from the previous Saturday-night statement, which looks even more like a second-bottle-of-wine rant by the week.
