Tories warned that Reform’s ‘New Right’ offers voters a ‘full-blown factory reset’

VOTERS are turning to Nigel Farage’s Reform UK because they see Britain as a sluggish smartphone and want a “full-blown factory reset”, according to one of the country’s leading experts on the rise of populism.

Matt Goodwin, a political scientist who has previously addressed Reform conferences and is well known for his appearances on GB News, lays out why many former Tory voters have deserted the Conservatives in a new essay.

He says Reform represents the “New Right” which recognises the “need to not just reform the system but bring about what I call a full-blown ‘factory reset’ in this country”.

In his report — one of a group penned for think-tank Policy Exchange — he compares the nation to an old phone that is “overloaded with apps and is now a major source of stress”.

The public want to reset it by returning institutions to what they were like before Tony Blair took power.
