CRASH detection technology which sends an SOS if motorcyclists are in trouble should be compulsory, says Tory MP Greg Smith.

The feature - either on phone apps or built into a bike - uses sensors to detect an accident and will call 999 if the rider does not override it. Some systems also pass on medical information and contact next of kin.
Shadow Transport Minister Mr Smith, inset, believes insurance firms and the government are too slow at embracing the technology.
