JARRAD Branthwaite came up amidst the heated protests with the best retort to Everton's raging grievance against the Premier League with an added-time goal.

It was the Carlisle-born defender's first home goal in the elite league and it rescued a point for a club which believes the football world is against them.

The Goodison fans had waved anti-Premier League placards and the hostility to officialdom reached a crescendo in the seven minutes of added time as, 2-1 down, they were denied a couple of claims for a penalty.

Manager Sean Dyche was yellow-carded as the famous old stadium became toxic.

But from a 94th-minute James Garner free-kick relief was at hand as in the goalmouth melee Branthwaite headed in.
