Israel keeps bombing despite Hamas hopes

HIT: Nuseirat Refugee Camp yesterday

The US president made the comment hours earlier as he welcomed Hamas indicating that it would free the remaining Israeli hostages and begin peace talks.

He said he believed the terror group was “ready for lasting peace” as Israel’s military halted its Gaza City offensive — although the Palestinian Wafa news agency reported yesterday that 28 people had been killed on Friday across the Gaza Strip.

Hamas said it agreed with the US plan in principle, but wanted further negotiations.

But responding, Mr Trump warned on his Truth Social: “I appreciate that Israel has temporarily stopped the bombing in order to give the Hostage release and Peace Deal a chance to be completed. Hamas must move quickly, or else all bets will be off.

“I will not tolerate delay... or any outcome where Gaza poses a threat again. Let’s get this done, FAST. Everyone will be treated fairly.”
