Elise's thank-you to MPs for voting 'to prevent drawn-out, painful deaths'

TERMINALLY ill cancer patient Elise Burns has thanked MPs for "voting to give people the option of a good death".

The 50-year-old lives in constant pain due to secondary breast cancer which has spread to her bones, lungs and liver.

Having the option of an assisted death "would make a huge difference", she said.

"Ultimately, it's about choice.

"When you have this type of illness, you have so little control.

You're just on the cancer merry-go-round and you can't get off.
