Acid attack paedophile jailed for 30 years in U.S.

A VIOLENT criminal who put two police officers in hospital after dousing them with acid has been jailed for 30 years for a sex attack on a nine-year-old boy in the US.
Briton Mark Bedwell, 54, squirted drain fluid in the faces of the policemen when they came to arrest him.
The IT consultant was being extradited in connection with the attack.
Bedwell had flown 4,400 miles to carry out the abuse on the youngster in Huntsville, Alabama, after he met two other paedophiles online.
Now Bedwell has filed an application to appeal his conviction, despite striking a plea deal in December in which he waived his right to contest the judgment.
He had previously admitted one count of travelling with intent to engage in a sexual act with a minor in exchange for prosecutors dropping three other assault charges.
