'Green gateway' of 106 homes planned

PLANS have been revealed for a ‘green gateway’ estate in Stockport with 106 new homes along ‘treelined’ streets.
The land at Dialstone Lane, in red outline, earmarked for new homes
‘The scheme by Story Homes and Stockport Grammar School could use the school’s land on Dialstone Lane, which has been out of use for the last seven years, according to planning reports.
Use of the land by Stockport Grammar School as sports pitches is considered ‘no longer feasible’ due to the distance from the main school site which is a 12-minute walk away.
‘The plans come as Stockport is facing major housing pressures, with more than 9,000 people on the social housing list.
