A mountaineering club which has been helping members scale every peak for half a century is preparing to celebrate their big birthday with a special dinner later this year.

Forth Valley Mountaineering Club was founded in the summer of 1976 and is poised to celebrate its half century with a celebration dinner at Grangemouth's Grange Manor Hotel on Saturday, May 9.
A working group has been beavering away making arrangements for the dinner and some 160 members, former members and friends of the club have been traced and invited to participate.
