Gary smashes it to raise £33k for charity

Smashed it: Gary Ralston and mate Julie Malloy celebrate after finishing the gruelling Livrox challenge

Former journalist Gary Ralston, from Bridge of Allan, chose the Eilidh Brown Memorial Fund for his gruelling exercise challenge, a part of his own efforts to stay positive and fit amid his own cancer journey.

The 55-year-old dad-of-two was prompted to visit the doctor by son Lewis after needing to go to the loo frequently and that visit delivered concern of an elevated score on a routine PSA test. Further tests and scans confirmed the worst and Gary was diagnosed with prostate cancer in January last year.
