DC Jammu reviews functioning of Labour Dept

Deputy Commissioner Jammu Sachin Kumar Vaishya, chaired a meeting on Thursday to assess the functioning of the Labour Department in the district, with a strong focus on the implementation of labour laws, formal registration of workers and employers and the extension of welfare benefits to the unorganised workforce.

The meeting was attended by Sub Divisional Magistrates, Additional Commissioner Revenue Dr Rajesh Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Development Danish Rasool, Assistant Labour Commissioner Jammu Rupali Jasrotia, Labour Officer Shivika Sharma and concerned officials from other departments. Deputy Commissioner underlined the vital role of the Labour Department in protecting the rights of workers and ensuring that legislative measures aimed at improving working conditions, safety standards and social security are fully enforced.
