Wife and her lover are found guilty of conspiracy to murder husband

Christopher Mills

The jury trying Michelle Mills and two former servicemen accused of plotting to murder her husband have found Mills and one of the service men, Geraint Berry, guilty.

A third co-accused - Steven Thomas was found not guilty by the jury yesterday.

Arrest pictures have now been released of Michelle Mills and Berry who met through Mills' job with a veterans charity

After embarking on an affair, they began planning to murder her husband Christopher Mills.

The court had heard how plotting culminated in Berry and fellow veteran Steven Thomas masked and armed with imitation handguns bursting into the Mills' holiday caravan in west Wales and attacking Mr Mills.

After a struggle Mr Mills was able to disarm the intruders and they fled the caravan.

The incident was initially reported as an armed robbery and led to a major police response including armed units, police dogs, and a helicopter. Berry and Thomas were found hiding in bushes near the caravan park and were arrested.

Berry, Thomas, and Michelle Mills were subsequently charged with conspiracy to murder following the discovery of texts on Berry's phone.

The trio denied the offence and have ben on trial at Swansea Crown Court.

Yesterday, the jury returned verdicts of guilty to conspiracy to murder for Berry and Mills, and not guilty for Thomas.

Mills was also found guilty of perverting the course of justice in relation to the account of the caravan incident which she gave to police officers.

Berry and Thomas had previously pleaded guilty to possession of imitation firearms with intent to cause fear in relation to the incident.
