ACTING legend Sir Anthony Hopkins has opened up about the moment he knew he needed to seek help for his alcoholism - acknowledging that he “could have killed” someone.

The 87-year-old Port Talbot star, who marked 49 years of sobriety last December, was driving around California in a “blackout” and had a sudden realisation that he was an alcoholic and needed to give up drinking.
He revealed on The New York Times' The Interview podcast: “I was drunk and driving my car here in California in a blackout, no clue where | was going, when | realised that | could have killed somebody - or myself, which | didn't care about.
“I came to my senses and said to an ex-agent of mine at this party in Beverly Hills, ‘I need help’.”
