M4 crash drink-driver 'told police he was 12'

A DRINK-DRIVER who stole his girlfriend's car and crashed it into the central reservation of the M4 gave police a false name and told them he was “12 years old”, a court has heard.
Four calls had been made to the police about the intoxicated driver, who drove into cones.
Rory Butler, 37, from Port Talbot, had been out for food with his partner on August 23 but an argument broke out when they returned to her home. Matters escalated to the point the defendant was asked to leave.
A sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court on Monday heard that when his partner went into her garden, Butler took her silver Volkswagen Golf and left the address.
At 10.30pm, police received a phone call about the defendant's erratic driving in Briton Ferry.
Prosecutor Rob Simpkins said further calls were made about Butler's driving on the M4 eastbound carriageway, including him driving through cones at a contraflow system.
