LYNN HAILS PLAYERS AS WINLESS RUN ENDS

|July 28, 2025
WALES Women head coach Sean Lynn praised the performance of his players after the 21-12 victory over Australia in Brisbane.
-
This was Lynn's first victory since taking the helm after Wales had lost all five games in the Six Nations and this was a timely result a mere month out from the World Cup.
A brace of tries from Nel Metcalfe along with a score from Hannah Dallavalle and six points from the boot of Keira Bevan got Wales over the line.
"I'm very proud of them all, honestly," said Lynn.
"I totally agree these are youngsters and just stepping up.
"They've all worked hard over this summer and you can see now that hard work is paying off.
"They are becoming better players and they are maturing nicely.
"When you've got individuals like Al (Alex Callender) and you've got Bethan Lewis out there who were outstanding."
Lynn was particularly impressed by Wales' halfbacks Bevan and Lleucu George, who were both pivotal in getting the visitors over the line.
"When you've got your nine and 10 controlling the game it's so much easier and then all the little bits of the jigsaw was falling into place," said Lynn.
"We are not the finished article and we've still got a lot to work on but what I wanted from the girls this week they delivered and we'll move forward again.
"I asked them to come in and set some targets.
