Lifeboat rescue after 'person cut off by tide'

RNLI crews were called out late on Monday night after receiving a report that a person was cut off by the tide at Three Cliffs Bay.

Two lifeboat crews launched at 10pm, after being informed about the incident by an off-duty police officer. They faced “challenging conditions”, which worsened with nightfall.

A “large swell in the sea” made getting close to the shore difficult, but crews managed to carry out a thorough search of the area. The search was later called off, as the person had managed to make their way back to safety.
