How city's state schools ranked for GCSE results
South Wales Evening Post
|September 01, 2025
LATEST official confirmed data for GCSE results figures shows how every maintained school in Swansea ranks on grades.
The figures reveal which schools in the city had the best results for A*-A, A*-C and overall pass rates AG at GCSE.
The latest GCSE results for Wales last month saw Swansea beat the all-Wales results. The most recent Welsh Government figures comparing schools in the city are for the 2023-24 academic year.
They rank Bishopston Comprehensive as the best school in Swansea for GCSE grades last year.
Schools with the highest percentages of A*-As don’t necessarily have the highest percentages of A*-C or overall pass rates A*-G.
This may be an indication of a focus for top results rather than overall grades A* to G.
The gold standard are A* to C grades. Different areas also have very differing demographics and exam results are only one measure of performance.
