A MAN was repeatedly stabbed and threatened with an imitation firearm after being pushed into a car and abducted before his kidnappers attempted to murder him.

It was only because the victim’s father hatched a plan to rescue his son and rammed the kidnappers’ car with his vehicle, that he was able to escape through a car window.

Tyshane Brown, 30, Luke Williams, 19, and George Miles-Williams, 24, were involved in the kidnapping of Connor Price, 28, from Cyfarthfa Retail Park in Merthyr Tydfil on February 10, and demanded £5,000 from his girlfriend or they would kill him.

Mr Price suffered multiple stab wounds and collapsed after escaping, believing he had been shot in the leg.

A sentencing hearing at Newport Crown Court on Friday heard Williams contacted Mr Price, an acquaintance, and asked to meet him at Cyfartha Retail Park.

Arrangements were made and the defendants travelled down to Merthyr Tydfil from Hereford, and Mr Price drove to the car park with his girlfriend.

The defendants coerced Ruben Ritchie to drive them by threatening him with a gun.

On the journey down to Merthyr Tydfil, the car was stopped in Kington, Herefordshire, and Brown got out to rummage through the bushes and got back into the car carrying a large bag.

Upon arriving at the retail park, Miles-Williams walked into McDonald’s and looked for the victim, who later arrived in a red Vauxhall Astra.

He left the engine running and his girlfriend remained in the passenger seat.

Mr Price walked towards the Hyundai vehicle containing the defendants and he was told to get into the back of the car. Brown got out and as Mr Price leaned into the car, he was pulled in by Williams.

Brown was in possession of a knife and used it to poke Mr Price in the back and abdomen. The victim's girlfriend shouted “What’s going on” and Mr Price told her “They've got knives and guns.”

The victim made an attempt to escape but he was dragged back in by Williams, and after Brown got back in the Hyundai they drove off at speed.
