Cancer centre's 'uplifting environment' wins award

A pioneering NHS cancer centre in Bath has scooped a major international award for using art and design to transform the healing environment.
The Dyson Cancer Centre, part of the Royal United Hospitals (RUH) Bath, has won a European Healthcare Design Award for its innovative interior scheme, which combines more than 100 artworks with natural light and a calming theme based on 'Land, Water, Sky'.
The accolade recognises projects that excel in creating compassionate healthcare spaces through thoughtful use of design and artistic features.
Hetty Dupays, art design manager for the RUH's Art at the Heart programme, said: "It's a huge honour to be awarded this accolade - we were up against some incredible projects from as far afield as Singapore and the USA, so to have an NHS building recognised in this way is really special.
