What's next for Maseko?

Thapelo Maseko is finally getting what he wanted, and that is game time.
-
In Cyprus, playing for AEL Limassol, Maseko is getting an opportunity to express himself on the pitch, but the time to discuss his future with his parent club Mamelodi Sundowns is fast approaching, and how the conversations go will have a big impact on his career. Soccer Laduma looks at what is likely to happen next for the former SuperSport United winger.
What the Siya crew has been told...
Thapelo Maseko made a loan move from Mamelodi Sundowns to AEL Limassol in Cyprus during the January transfer window, and it's a move that has revived his career.
After struggling to break into the team at Chloorkop, he finally got the opportunity to get game time again and appears to be enjoying his football after spending some time in the wilderness. But what does the future hold for him? Does he go back to Sundowns where he once found himself playing in the DStv Diski Challenge and hope that the situation improves from the last time he was there? Or does he take a leap of faith and stay in Europe, where things are currently going well?
It's obviously not entirely up to him. Maseko still has a two-year contract with Sundowns, and the defending league champions will have a say in what happens next in his career. Should they want to keep him on board for next season, he would have no choice but to return and fight for his place in the team. But that, as history has shown, is not a walk in the park. Outside of injuries, Maseko found it difficult to get into the team at Sundowns on a regular basis, and publicly expressed his feelings on the matter in social media posts.
