Goalkeepers
Brandon Petersen
After getting just five matches last season, Petersen has had a complete turnaround in his Chiefs career this term. He has started 17 of Chiefs' 18 matches with 10 clean sheets. In the league, it's eight clean sheets in 13 matches and he has been almost flawless. In the CAF Confederation Cup, he has been more error-prone and conceded a penalty for a foul against AI Masry. He was made captain when the co-coaches, Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef, took charge, such is their belief in him.
8/10 The only thing stopping this from being higher is the costly error against AI Masry.
Defenders Reeve Frosler
After a mixed 2024/25 season, it's not been a good campaign for the right-back. He was immediately benched with the arrival of Thabiso Monyane and Dillan Solomons deservedly overtook him in the pecking order too. His outing against Sekhukhune United was below par and he was arguably at fault for Marumo Gallants' equaliser in a 1-1 draw.
4/10
Now the third-choice right-back, and not considered for minutes in other roles, the versatile full-back faces an uncertain future.
Dillan Solomons
The wing-back has only played 20% of the league minutes, but his impact on Chiefs' season has been impressive.
He scored against AI Masry and set up a key late equaliser against Zamalek. His performance levels in a very specific tactical role have been beyond expectations. In recent league matches, he has started ahead of Monyane and if this form continues, Solomons will earn himself a new contract.
8/10
Arguably one of Chiefs' top six performers this season. Few would have expected him to play, but he has instead won a regular starting place despite intense competition.
Thabiso Monyane

One of the agents sabotaged me
Sibusiso Mabiliso’s football journey is difficult to understand. He built a big reputation as one of the best left-backs in the country during his first stint with AmaZulu FC from 2018 to 2021. The 26-year-old defender then made a dream move to Kaizer Chiefs, a team he grew up supporting. When he played 90 minutes in the Soweto Derby win over rivals Orlando Pirates in November 2021, he was the happiest man around. From there, it’s been downhill. What went wrong? Mabiliso opens up in this interview with Soccer Laduma’s Tiyani wa ka Mabasa.

Still InTouch With...TSWEU MOKORO (PART 1)
Tsweu Mokoro started playing football in Sasolburg for an amateur team before joining the renowned Barney Molekwane academy, where he played for three years before becoming a professional. In 2001, he was one of the aspiring players who attended trials at Free State Stars alongside the likes of Jimmy Kauleza, Gert Schalkwyk, Hleza Mofedi and David Radebe under coach Roy Barreto before signing. Mokoro joined SuperSport United during the 2002/03 season and helped the team win two trophies when Matsatsantsa won the 2004 SAA Supa8 and the 2005 Absa Cup. After he was deemed surplus to requirements at SuperSport United, the midfielder joined Ajax Cape Town where he had an unsuccessful six-month stint before joining Moroka Swallows. Mokoro later joined AmaZulu FC before finishing his career with African Warriors in the National First Division (now the Motsepe Foundation Championship).
