Nick unfazed by jibes as he makes Germany return
Shields Gazette
|December 10, 2025
Newcastle United striker Nick Woltemade returned to Germany insisting he does not care about the Bayern Munich jibes which greeted his move to the Premier League.
Bayern chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge congratulated Bundesliga rivals Stuttgart on finding ‘an idiot’ to pay £69million for the frontman his club had targeted as he headed for St James’ Park in August.
Speaking ahead of the Magpies’ Champions League clash with Bayer Leverkusen, record signing Woltemade said: “To be honest I don't care.
“I don't read it, I focus on myself and at the end I am not deciding what someone is paying for me. I am happy Newcastle have paid this for me because I am really happy in Newcastle.”
