Newcastle United are hopeful a number of key defenders who have been out injured or carrying knocks could be involved in tomorrow' game against Crystal Palace.

- by Dominic Scurr

Eddie Howe revealed in his pre-match press conference yesterday that Lewis Hall should be OK while Sven Botman is back in training and Tino Livramento and Kieran Trippier are also close to being involved. Hall suffered a knock to his ankle in the match at Burnley but was able to see out the 3-1 win.

But Howe was able to deliver some encouraging injury updates.

On Hall he said: "We'll have a closer look at him today [Friday]. But I don't see it being a big problem.
