A KENT town often named in 'most desirable places to live' lists is poised to have a development of 26 “much-needed” affordable homes.

- By MARY HARRIS

The proposals are for the Abacus warehouse and garages in Greatness Lane, Sevenoaks, a town with direct trains to London and in close proximity to the A21.

West Kent Housing Association is behind the scheme, which will be a mix of flats and family homes, and it said the properties would be “low cost to run” for residents.

It plans to submit a planning application to Sevenoaks District Council later this year and, if approved, work would begin on site early next year.

The Abacus furniture project, operated by the housing association, currently recycles unwanted, pre-used furniture and household items so people can furnish their homes at a low cost.
