FARESHARE Kent recently joined thousands of charities and voluntary organisations for a special week recognising the contribution volunteers make across the UK.

Running every year since 1984, the week provides a crucial opportunity to thank volunteers and recognise the value of their time, passion and skills. The campaign highlights the diversity and unity of volunteer work across the UK.

This year, FareShare Kent celebrated their 91 volunteers, with a barbecue filled with great food, laughter and heartfelt appreciation. Set against the backdrop of a rainy afternoon, the event brought staff and volunteers together for a well-earned break and a chance to reflect on the positive impact they've made across the community.

The volunteers collectively gave over 27,762 hours of their time in the past year to help fight hunger and reduce food waste across the county.
