First charity ball raises more than £17k to help parents of poorly babies

A CHARITY working to provide extra comforts for families of poorly babies in Scunthorpe has just held its first successful charity ball for the cause.

Scunthorpe NICU Little Warriors wants to enhance the facilities for parents whose children are being cared for in the town's neonatal intensive care unit.

It has just held a charity ball at Forest Pines Hotel and hopes the proceeds, more than £17,000 was raised, will go a long way towards refurbishing the accommodation area at the hospital for when parents stay over to be close to their babies.
