LABOUR'S “open door” immigration policy is swallowing up London’s housing supply, the Tories claim.

The party said in a best-case scenario, London would have a shortfall of 207,900 homes by 2030. An average property in the capital cost £539,914 last month, compared with the national average of £298,237, according to Halifax bank.

The Conservatives say immigration alone will require an average of 68,700 new homes in London every year.
