Warning on Worboys as fresh probe into sex attack is dropped

- BY DAN WARBURTON and ISAAC CROWSON

Black cab rapist 'should never be freed from jail'

From left, Worboys as a stripper; his taxi; and booze he plied victims with

A FORMER friend of black cab rapist John Worboys has warned he should never be released after a historical sex attack case against the monster was dropped.

He also feared the Parole Board could be about to free Worboys after 16 years inside, despite concerns that his offending may have involved more than 100 women.

Police launched a probe over an alleged attack when Worboys was working as a stripper 25 years ago.

But after months of investigating claims he raped a woman in Blackpool, the inquiry is now over.

Former friend and ex-stripper Dave Hanson said: “I fear that decision means the last chance to properly nail Worboys for his full offending has gone. I fear it paves the way for his release.

“It’s horrific. I am sure there are dozens and dozens more victims.

“He's only in his late 60s. I fear now they will have to release him.

“If he is given freedom he will strike again and again. He will never stop. You can't rehabilitate a monster like that. It's very disturbing.

“I have spoken out against him so I think he will come after me. He will stop at nothing.”

Worboys, 68, is serving two life terms after being jailed in 2009 for assaults on 12 women in London.
