Yusuf's a burk for flouncing off

A ROW about the burka and its role in a modern, Western society - ie ours - has reared its head again and temporarily cost the chairman of Reform UK, Zia Yusuf, his job.

After saying it was “dumb” for the party’s newest MP Sarah Pochin — who won last month's Runcorn and Helsby by-election — to call on Sir Keir Starmer to ban the burka, Mr Yusuf resigned when it became apparent no one else in Reform agreed. Two days later he capitulated and returned — but he wasn't the only one out of touch.
