William: 'Your father was incredibly a very special man'

Prince chats to Lindsey, Maya, Jackson, Macy and Kevin

He was fulfilling a promise to the former rugby league star, made the final time they met.

Rob died from MND in June last year aged 41. The Rob Burrow Centre is part of his legacy, built at Seacroft Hospital, Leeds, after a £6.8million fundraising campaign.

William, 43, said it was his “absolute honour” to officially open the facility, and made an impromptu speech, addressing Rob and widow Lindsey's children, Macy, 13, Maya, 10, and seven-year-old son Jackson.

He said: “You guys should be so proud of your father. He really was an incredibly brave, very special man. This is a world-leading centre and is going to save a lot of lives.
