Bamburgh is top seaside spot again

- By Milo Boyd

STUNNING Bamburgh is still the toast of the coasts, taking the crown as the UK’s top seaside destination for the fifth consecutive year.

The Northumberland village with a population of just 400 retained the accolade in the annual Which? survey with an overall score of 84%.

The location earned five-star ratings for its beach — with spectacular views of Bamburgh Castle — the seafront and peaceful atmosphere. One visitor raved: “It’s a gem. The beaches are sandy, clean and stretch for miles. There are walks galore, the food on offer is top notch, the feel is of a time gone by and there’s enough history to delve into to last several holidays.”

An average night’s stay in Bamburgh costs £130.

Tough choices for a country already squeezed dry...

LET'S play a game of Who Wants to Plug a £40billion Black Hole? Contestants can choose from three thrilling options: raise income tax (boo), slash welfare or squeeze the dwindling number of people with enough means to flee Britain like bats out of hell. These are the unenviable choices facing Rachel Reeves, and none of them is pretty.
