The furore comes ahead of the start of Labour’s family farm tax with its 20% inheritance levy on agricultural property above a £1million threshold which is being opposed by the Express crusade Save Britain’s Family Farms.

I've faced a barrage of Labour supporters about this kind of thing, with memes created under the Red Tractor logo saying ‘Pay your taxes’. She should be sacked. It’s not a level playing field.”

He added: “She needs to take it on the chin and go.”
