Syme has bottle

SCOTLAND'S Connor Syme won the KLM Open to claim his first title on the DP World Tour.

The 29-year-old went into yesterday's final round with a two-shot lead over playing partner Joakim Lagergren and maintained the same advantage despite a brilliant closing eagle from the Swede.

Syme finished 11 under, shooting a one-under-par 70 in his last round and making only one bogey in his final 38 holes.

It earned him a very healthy pay cheque of £345,000 and he raced up to 18th place in the Race to Dubai.

He said: "Unbelievable, it was so, so difficult the last few days.
