Swinney accused of plotting UK split – with Wales

JOHN SWINNEY has been accused of being “more interested” in breaking up the UK than governing Scotland after he invited fellow nationalist party Plaid Cymru to Bute House.

The taxpayer-funded residence of the First Minister in Edinburgh is not normally used for party political business.

But Plaid Cymru leader Rhun ap lorwerth enjoyed a cosy fireside chat with Mr Swinney yesterday, amid the two being accused of “hatching a plan” to tear apart the Union.

Two separate press releases were issued, with the Scottish Government declaring that Scotland and Wales can become a “uniting force in creating a fairer, more progressive society”.

But the SNP release was all about breaking up Britain, as well as campaigning for next year’s Holyrood election.
