STURGEON'S MEMOIR 'IS DELUDED TRIBUTE TO HERSELF'
Scottish Daily Express
|August 13, 2025
NICOLA STURGEON was accused of a "cringeworthy level of self-congratulation" after claiming she was applauded by hundreds of passengers at a Scottish airport.
In the same anecdote, which was immediately highlighted as at least partially false, she also bragged about a Scottish Labour MP losing his seat.
And Ms Sturgeon also boasted that when she was younger she was always "destined" to become famous and not lead an “ordinary” life. Last night, Annie Wells, Scots Tory MSP for Glasgow, told the Scottish Daily Express: “Nicola Sturgeon’s memoir reads more like a delusional tribute to herself than an honest reflection on her time in office.
“She has never been known for her humility but the level of self-congratulation here is cringe-worthy — and totally unwarranted.
“Under Nicola Sturgeon’s leadership Scotland’s NHS spiralled into crisis, education standards plummeted, drug deaths reached record highs, women’s rights were trampled on and the country was divided as she relentlessly pushed her independence obsession.
“Nowadays, she’s more likely to be jeered than cheered by the Scottish public, which might explain why a move to London appeals to her. Her record is ultimately one of dismal failure. History will certainly not judge her as kindly as she judges herself.”
Brags
Ms Sturgeon’s autobiography, Frankly, went on sale at some outlets earlier this week, although the official release date isn’t until tomorrow.
In one excerpt, she brags about her entrance to Glasgow Airport the day after the SNP secured a landslide 56 of Scotland’s 59 MPs in the 2015 General Election.
