Snowsports edge way to early season start

A SCOTTISH skiing centre has received an early Christmas present thanks to the recent bonechilling weather.

The Highlands has been among parts of the country to see snowfall over the past few days.

Now Cairngorm Mountain, near Aviemore, said a limited number of skiing passes will be available, advising people to book in advance, amid one of the earliest starts to the winter sports season.

But while offering limited snowsports from yesterday to tomorrow - the centre said there would not be full access to upper slopes, and there was insufficient snow to open the lower slopes.
