NAOMI OSAKA caused a US Open upset on Labour Day.
The two-time former champion never faced a break point as she stunned No.3 seed Coco Gauff 6-3 6-2 at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Osaka had not reached the second week of a Major since 2021, and only returned from a 16-month pregnancy break in January 2024.
After reaching her third quarterfinal at Flushing Meadows, the former No.1 said: “I’m a little sensitive. I don’t want to cry but I had so much fun out here.
