Salmond cleared over new sex claim

ALEX SALMOND has been “vindicated” after police dropped a probe into new sexual assault claims made about him.

The late politician previously faced accusations of sexual misconduct after he resigned from his role as First Minister.

He was cleared in court of all charges and subsequently accused his successor Nicola Sturgeon of being involved in a conspiracy to ruin his reputation.

Mr Salmond was in the process of suing the Scottish Government for malfeasance when he died on October 12 last year.
