Royals seeking new air apparent

THE search is on for someone to make sure the Royals’ flights go smoothly across Scotland and the rest of the UK.

A landing site officer is wanted to monitor the progress of each helicopter flight that carries members of The Firm — who include four helicopter pilots in their ranks.

Prince Harry flew Apaches with the Army Air Corps, Prince William was a search and rescue pilot at RAF Valley in Wales - before working as a pilot with the East Anglian Air Ambulance — and Prince Andrew flew helicopters with distinction in the Falklands.

And King Charles himself also qualified as a helicopter pilot at RNAS Yeovilton in 1974.
