Revealed: Chinese sailors' secret D-Day naval role

THE little-known D-Day role played by 24 Chinese naval officers comes under the spotlight in a London exhibition today.
They were sent to train with the Royal Navy after China entered the Second World War on December 9, 1941.
Their story emerged when an 80-page diary by seaman Lam Ping-yu was found at a Hong Kong flat in 2015.
It is the sole source for their D-Day heroics.
After six months of training at Greenwich, including in etiquette, they were made observers on different ships.
