Rayner begins fightback on issue of workers’ rights

ANGELA Rayner has launched her political fightback with an attempt to speed up the progress of her workers’ rights reforms, after they were watered down by Sir Keir Starmer.

Battler... Angela Rayner has not given up on ambition

Ms Rayner, the former Deputy Prime Minister, received a boost after Health Secretary Wes Streeting said she could make a return to the Cabinet despite resigning over unpaid stamp duty in September.

She is now attempting to amend the Employment Rights Bill so that new protections for employees come into force next year rather than in 2027.
