- DEPUTY LEADER OF THE SCOTTISH CONSERVATIVES

MSPs are back in Holyrood after the long summer break and, despite an election being only eight months away, the SNP government doesn't have plans for effective action in the remainder of the parliamentary term.

It's no wonder so many people are fed up to the back teeth with politicians, when what goes on at the foot of the Royal Mile is at best irrelevant, and far too often damaging, for ordinary Scots.

For nearly two decades, the SNP has pursued its divisive and self-interested agenda while letting Scotland's economy and essential services go to the dogs.

The Nationalist government is failing in its basic functions to improve people's well-being, to ensure that crucial services like our NHS, schools and justice system are run effectively, and deliver value for taxpayers.

It's politics as a performance, where John Swinney and his colleagues grandstand in the chamber or on television, parading their right-on credentials while ignoring the chaos they've created.
