Police scour CCTV in bid to find tent sex attacker

THE detective leading the hunt for a sex attacker who targeted a child sleeping alone in a tent has pleaded with the public to “think back” as he revealed his officers are scouring more than 1,500 hours of CCTV footage as part of the inquiry.

One week on from the shocking incident in the Highlands, the man has still not been found.

He struck at the Loch Ness Bay campsite near Drumnadrochit during the early hours of Thursday, July 31.

At the time — estimated to be between 12.20am and 1am - the eight-year-old child was in a tent adjacent to his parents.

The boy’s father, alerted by sounds of a disturbance, went to investigate and was confronted by the intruder outside before the attacker fled on foot.
