'Massive' Russian attack on eve of Keir meeting
Scottish Daily Express
|December 08, 2025
UKRAINE was hit by a huge Russian attack as President Volodymyr Zelensky prepared to meet Sir Keir Starmer and fellow European leaders in Downing Street today.
The central city of Kremenchuk was left without power, heat or water following a series of strikes by Vladimir Putin's forces.
The city’s mayor, Vitalii Maletskyi, said emergency services were working around the clock to restore critical systems following the outages after a “massive combined strike” by Russia early yesterday.
Mr Maletskyi posted a photo on social media showing a large blaze engulfing what appeared to be industrial buildings.
