Lock him up for life in solitary

WE DIDN'T need terrorist Hashem Abedi's alleged ferocious, homicidal attack on four prison officers to know that the 28-year-old is one of the most dangerous prisoners in Britain.

His original crime - aiding and abetting his brother's suicide bombing of innocent, fun-loving kids at Manchester Arena - is proof enough of that.

But Abedi's implacable hostility to this country and everything it stands for is now, perforce, confined to his immediate and permanent surroundings - prison.

His options are limited. But they are still options. Abedi already has form for attacking the hated authority figures charged with keeping him confined.
