LIECHTENSTEIN BOSS: I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE CLARKE'S GOALKEEPER PROBLEMS
Scottish Daily Express
|June 09, 2025
SCOTLAND might be facing a goalkeeper crisis but Liechtenstein coach Konrad Fünfstück would be delighted to have Steve Clarke's selection issues ahead of this evening's friendly in Vaduz.
The minnows take on the Scots who are without five goalkeepers and with Cieran Slicker, Ross Doohan and Callan McKenna having just a single cap between them - in the capital's Rheinpark Stadion.
Slicker played and struggled in Friday's friendly defeat to Iceland, but Fünfstück believes the Scots will still have more than enough quality to cope.
The German said: "Scotland had a good reputation for developing good goalkeepers. So they shouldn't worry too much. There are many good goalkeepers who will go on to have good careers.
"I don't want to focus too much on the issues and problems the Scottish team might have.
"They have a good structure, good coach and a good philosophy.
"We want to focus on ourselves and continue on the path we started two years ago with clear ideas and principles.
"I would love to have the problems the Scottish coach has." The country is ranked 205th in the world-out of 210 - and Fünfstück is well aware his side are up against it.

IT'S A FAMILY AFFAIR
A little goes a very long way in the third chapter of director James Cameron's blockbusting franchise. Avatar: Fire And Ash is a masterclass in candyfloss storytelling, expertly fluffing around an hour of linear plot and character development into more than three hours of jaw-dropping visual spectacle that continues to push the envelope for performance capture technology.
