Jack's in frame for cup final recovery
Scottish Daily Express
|May 22, 2025
ABERDEEN defender Jack MacKenzie is in contention to play in the Scottish Cup final despite suffering a serious facial injury after being whacked by a seat thrown by a fan five days ago.
The 25-year-old, below, needed stitches in a head wound and sustained a nasty cut below the eye after being struck in the wake of his side's league defeat to Dundee United at Tannadice.
A Dons supporter appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court yesterday, accused of acting in a culpable and reckless manner. He made no plea and was granted bail.
Pittodrie manager Jimmy Thelin said: "Jack is doing well. He was on the pitch today training with the team so he's okay.
“It was important for him to be involved. He has some restrictions, heading the ball with the stitches. But he was training well and he was good.
"We are looking forward to the weekend.”
