PEP GUARDIOLA will celebrate his 1000th match as a manager tomorrow with glowing endorsements from Sir Alex Ferguson and Mikel Arteta.

As Guardiola's Manchester City take on Liverpool, one of the biggest games of the season has this spectacular landmark to go with it.

Guardiola, 54, will be inducted into the League Managers Association Hall of Fame 1,000 Club, becoming the 39th boss in the modern era of English football to reach this milestone.

Sir Alex said: "Pep! I am delighted to welcome you to join the prestigious LMA Hall of Fame 1,000 Club.
